How’s it going guys new rider here with an r7 . And I have a safety concern on the bike maybe someone can give me advice on before I go any further . It’s been twice at a stop my bike will not go down in gears and the gear number will disappear from screen . At first I thought it was my fault because approaching stops I do switch down all gears while holding the clutch once but reading around I guess that isn’t so bad or could it be?

Has the bike been down on the left side? The shift shaft is easy to damage if the shifter is forced too far or while the engine isn't running. You have to pull the right engine cover to check. It's usually behind the clutch basket. Is the bike under warranty?

I've noticed a similar issue. If i release the clutch just below the friction zone it seems to catch a gear and the indicator shows which one you're in.

Not sure if this is normal or an issue? I'm a relatively new rider as well

How many miles on the bike?
Mine had a similar issue for the first couple hundred miles, the gear indicator would go blank and it was hard to shift, it got better the more miles I put on it and eventually stopped doing it altogether.
