Hi Members. New dude here from Western New York. My Blue R7 is on order and hopefully will be in soon! I've owned an R1 and an R6, both of which were great bikes, but were both way above my ability/desire to get the most they have to offer. Its worth mentioning that I am 65+. I am very hopeful that the R7 will be a fun sport bike that does not require super fast speed to enjoy.

Welcome @Sixbeans. New Hampshire seacoast here. I've ridden a liter-bike for the last 20 years on street and quite a bit on track. My new R7 reminds me of what a lot of us have been waiting for the SV650S to turn into. Yamaha ate their lunch. Glad to now have a bike that doesn't eat as much in tires/chains/sprockets.

Putting some zero degree Vortex clip-ons on my R7 this weekend. The OEM grip angle is totally wrong for me ergonomically, but that's fixable.

Hey @Sixbeans, glad you could join us!

What first modifications and/or accessories do you see yourself adding when your R7 arrives?
Any photos of your R1 and R6?
I like the look of Yamaha's "Fender Eliminator" on the R7's Accessories page. Beyond that I may add the radiator guard (always a good idea) but probably not much beyond that.
Here are pics of the R1 and R6 I've had the pleasure of owning. My current main ride is a 2021 FJR1300ES which is an amazing machine!

I'll probably wait a few more years for the 70th anniversary R7. In the mean time, there's a 2020 KTM 1290 Super Duke I might pick up at good price. Not a fan of all the electronics but it wheelies with ease which is why I want an R7.
