Just use a 27mm socket wrench .. get a friend to hold the bike and loosen .. it comes right off

Appreciate it. Yet will that affect my steering. I did buy a Aluminum Flanged Top Yoke Nut M22x(1.00mm) (Open)

You need a yoke to hold down the clamp… don’t just remove the nut and go riding ….

Im not even gone lie bro.....I have no idea what that is. You're speaking a totally different language. Im looking to put the "quad lock" stem mount in it. So you're saying take it off and "yoke" to hold down the clamp?? What is that exactly? Sorry for being such a blonde.....like I said all this is new to me

Replacing the cap nut with an "uncapped" nut isn't as complicated as you're making it out to be. Do you have a torque wrench or trust yourself to tighten it by feel?

Dont have a torque wrench but i'll be going to get one, because I also have to put on my engine protector.

I had mine in less than a week. I'd highly recommend Pro Bolt.

How did the part work out from pro bolt. Just got a quad lock stem mount for my sons R7 and contacted quad lock and the said the stem mount wouldn’t work on an R7 because of clearance issues. I showed him a pic of the nut and he said it might work.

Has anybody else found a different supplier of the yoke nut than ProBolt? I ordered a blue one from them back in February and paid for expedited shipping… it still hasn’t shipped. I’ve had a $120 Rokform stem mount sitting in the box since mid-February lol

edit - nevermind. They must’ve felt their ears burning. 2 seconds after I posted this I got the email that they’re working on my order 😂
I was going to say, I ordered my generic one on Amazon for $9, got it in days. No issues with it.
