Hey all. Most likely will be called an idiot for not wearing much gear but I’m so grateful to be alive. Got cut off by a box truck this weekend and hit it square on. My R7 is dead. Completely totaled. I had Smx-6 boots, gp plus gloves, and a good ol shoei. T shirt and sweatpants. I t-boned the back end of the box truck at 50mph. Somehow I walked away with only a 4th metacarpal fracture. Surgery is Friday. Posting this mainly as a memorial post for my beloved R7 but also to remind you guys to ride safe. The guy turned in front of me and stopped the truck, completely blocking both lanes and I just came over the crest of a hill so I couldn’t stop or even downshift in time. Wear gear please. It’s other drivers you need to be worried about more than anything. God bless and ride safe yall.

Very sad to see this, but good to know the bike took the damage for you, and you walked away with minor injuries given the circumstances. Darn you for slightly raising the insurance costs for the rest of us, though!

Dang dood. That sux! im glad you survived. Sorry about your bike man. I cried when i broke my R7, and again when i traded it in.
