This is something that is done at the dealership prior to delivery. If your R7 looks different, it's probably got other things that are wrong. You pay for a proper setup so you should know if it was done right.

The diagnostic coupler was sitting loose under the rear seat, otherwise it was like that.

Is #4 , the diagnostic coupler a red cable with a covered plug? I had both seats off just now and noticed it was just there as well.

I noticed the other day that the battery cables on mine were resting firmly against each other. It painted a picture in my mind that showed me several years from now, riding down the road, and suddenly my wedding vegetables burst into flames! I made sure those cables were separated a bit.
