They didn't make it easy, it is under the fuel tank.
Remove seats, tank side covers, front upper panels, then the fuel tank. You'll see the top and the four screws.
Good call. It was right after I got the bike that I went in there, I didn't recall exactly the real process. I keep a few pieces of wood around the tool box for propping up tanks.You don't have to remove the tank, just loosen the mounting bolts and use something to prop it up high enough to get your hands in there and get the filter out.
