It wasn't a bad tire, it performed well, but I usually run Dunlop tires. I put a Q4 on the back last night, I'll install the front today. I had them sitting on some spare rims so I'll put them to use. Just wondering, to see what others are thinking.
I'll be replacing the S22's with some variant of the Michelin Pilot Power, probably the 2CT. I ride in cooler conditions most of the year, being in New Hampshire. These have been my go to tire for street and track for a lot of years for some good reasons. They need little to no balance weights once you've balanced your wheel assembly beforehand. So tire changes are quick and simple.
Again, they are great in cooler temps, and stick well when things are wet, both street and track. Even while raining, they pump water really well for not being a dedicated rain tire. I've run plenty of rainy sessions with them over the years and they're awesome.
I would not recommend running them on track in a super hot climate (think Texas in summer). They don't seem to like the heat for as long and can get a lot more greasy/melty. hehe
Mine will be track/race only so it will be the Pirelli slicks, DOTS, or TD.s I may run a Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa TD in the back and run a DOT or slick on the front. The S22 are a pretty damn good tire. I recently did a trackday on them. I may do a trackday write up review on the tires.
